Ender 2 Pro
When I first saw the Ender 2 Pro I was intrigued. It was small but packed with many great features for under $175.
It has:

First ReviewMy first review of the Ender Pro 2 was in February 2022. I believe I was one of the first to post it on YouTube and the reception was interesting. Many commented it was too small but some bought it and found what I did, that it printed really good and many prints fit on it just fine.
At $165-$175 you can buy it almost anywhere. I've found Microcenter has them on sale for $129 often. I now have several. |

Better FirmwareI did a video on the filament change feature in the firmware. To many that watched, this wasn't a big deal. But to me it proved that the firmware was more complete than most of the previous Creality machines. I found out later that newer Ender 2 Pro's have the same firmware now. But other Marlin features were in the Ender 2 Pro firmware. It is really one of the best out of the box firmwares that Creality has released. Typically updating firmware on a Creality machine is a must but the Ender 2 Pro is fine the way it is.

First UpgradeMy first upgrade was the bed leveling knobs. The bed is small so getting my fat fingers on the adjustment knobs was difficult. I also wanted to remind myself which direction to turn. I designed new ones in Tinkercad and shared them on Thangs. https://thangs.com/file/93588
I used M4 nuts as they fit the bed screws and also inserted into the prints after a pause. I may revisit these with press in threaded inserts. |

Custom G-CodeLeveling the small bed is easy with my E-Leveler but even using the paper method can give you a good bed level that will hold for many prints. The bed is typically not warped and the bed material holds prints really well.
I've tried other bed surfaces but I keep coming back to the original. I did do a video showing how you can take my E-Leveler G-Code file and modify it to your needs. You can do that with a text editor like noptepad ++. |
